Following the tremendous success that the Green Schools Certification Program has witnessed in Lebanon since its launch in 2015, the 2nd Annual Gathering of the program was organized on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at the Monroe Hotel in Beirut in the presence of the representatives of the related Ministries, the General Secretary of the Catholic schools in Lebanon, the Partners and Supporters of the Program, and the representatives of more than 150 public and private schools that are registered in the program.

The Green Schools Certification Program is a program organized by e-EcoSolutions Environmental Consultancy Firm, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and with the support of the Ministry of Environment in Lebanon, and the Center for Green Schools at the U.S.GBC. The mission of the program is “To put every student in Lebanon in a Green School within this generation”.

The aim of the Gathering was to confirm the continuation and the growth of the program in the academic year 2016/2017, to reveal the new solutions that will help all the existing Green Schools to enhance their certification scores and to encourage the participation of new schools, and to announce the new Partners who have joined to support the implementation of more sustainability solutions at the schools through their services and programs.

The newly announced Partners of the Green Schools Certification Program are Nestle Waters the “Water Partner”, Fransabank the “Strategic Financial Partner”, Tinol the “Health & Safety Partner”, Bank Audi the “Environmental Awareness Partner”, and Earth Technologies the “Energy Partner”.

“Since 2015, more than 22 organizations have joined the program as partners and supporters, and have each presented special direct support to the registered schools from all over Lebanon to help them raise their scores and advance in their Green path” said Gilbert Tegho, CEO of e-EcoSolutions “This year, we are committed to doubling the success through the new solutions that we are bringing and that are extending beyond the Green Schools as premises, to reach the environmental practices of the schools administration, teachers curriculum, and the students behaviors at home”.

Mr. Tegho also highlighted the “Green Jobs Orientation Field Trip to France” that is organized to promote the direction of the students towards sustainable development jobs, and that is planned to take 15 students of the Green Schools in the program to see various Green Jobs categories in Paris including a visit to the Renault ZOE Electric Car factory.
